A look back at the Domaine de la Vougeraie harvest

We had become accustomed to an earlier harvest in recent vintages, but 2024 weather conditions, marked by persistent rain and cool temperatures in the spring, delayed the vegetative cycle, and then stormy rains in the summer have required increased vigilance in the vineyard.

Humidity was at its worst, leading to coulure at flowering and the appearance of disease, which biodynamic viticulture was unable to halt despite numerous natural treatments.

The vines proved to be disparate: some, like those in Pommard or down Gevrey-Chambertin, were rather healthy and abundant, but unfortunately most were heavily affected by mildew.

Thanks to meticulous sorting, the estate's juices are shaping up with a nice concentration, and we're confident about the quality of future wines, even if the quantity will be tiny!

While the 2024 cuvées are still being vinified, be our guest to enjoy the elegance and purity of the Vougeraie wines at Maison Vougeot, especially the 2020 and 2021 vintages. Jeannette will welcome you for a moment of timeless conviviality, where each tasting is a special moment.
